Meet The Team

Tom McCarthy, MS

Chief Executive Officer, Co-Owner

Tom has been working as a strength & conditioning professional for over 17 years. His early experiences in the field involved one-on-one training and nutrition counseling. As Tom's business expanded, he began to work with individuals who had neuromuscular disorders. This work heavily influenced Tom's neural approach to strength training and athletic development. In 2012, the University at Buffalo awarded Tom a Master's degree in Nutrition Science and Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Aside from his work at IFS, Tom is an Assistant Professor in the Exercise and Sports Studies Program at D'Youville College.

Maggie Fuentes, MS

Chief Operating Officer, Co-Owner

Maggie finished her Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Physiology from The College at Brockport as well as her Master's of Science in Health and Human Performance from Canisius College. A member of the track and field team at Brockport, she specialized in the shot put, discus, hammer throw and javelin. Her previous experience included working in an intensive behavior modification program as well as cardiac rehabilitation. Now competing as a nationally ranked powerlifter, Maggie is also the Assistant Head Coach at Daemen College for the men's and women's track & field teams focusing on the throwing events. 

Alexis Nasca, BS

Executive VP of Operations IFS Softball, Co-Owner

Alexis is a SUNY Oswego alum. Graduated in 2016, she has a BS in Wellness Management as well as a minor in Nutrition and Athletic Coaching. As a 4-year starter and 2 year captain of the NCAA varsity softball team at Oswego, she understands the importance of physical fitness in both sport and everyday life. Alexis’ passion for softball comes from her appreciation for all that the sport has taught her.  She believes that athletics teach not only body awareness and strength, but an understanding of hard work and discipline, being able to overcome adversity, and the ability to be a contributing member of a team. Alexis is currently the head softball coach  at Eden Jr./Sr. High School. 

Kyle Clifford, MS/ATC

Executive VP of Operations 

IFS Basketball/IFS Team Training, Co-Owner

Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Studies and a Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Daemen College. During his time as a student, Kyle played for the Wildcats on the men's soccer team from 2010-13 before joining the men's basketball team for two years, from 2013-15. He currently is the Athletic Trainer for the Men's Soccer program at Daemen as well as Coordinator for all intercollegiate Varsity sports. Kyle also holds credentials as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist.

Jeffrey Turner, BS

Site Manager, Strength & Conditioning Coach

Jeff graduated from D'Youville College with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise and Sports Studies in May 2017. While there he was a 3 sport athlete participating in Soccer, Baseball, and Golf. Athletic performance and overall health has always been a driving factor in his life along with the desire to help others become the best version of themselves.

Mike Cabarga, CPT

Strength & Conditioning Coach:

Mike is a personal trainer with over 8 years of experience in the health & fitness industry. He has been working as a one-on-one personal trainer who offers tailored functional workouts based on any fitness level. He has extensive experience in training individuals as well as groups who want to lose/gain weight, improve body function, & general fitness.

Dominique Riforgiato

Strength & Conditioning Coach:

IFS Performance

Dominique is a student at D’Youville College earning her degree in Exercise and Sports Studies. She intends on earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy after Undergrad. She is a dual-sport athlete, playing both soccer and lacrosse. She has assisted youth-soccer coaching for the past four years. Dominique loves helping people achieve their goals and improve their health. She feels that’s what truly drives her.

Will VanAuken, BS

Strength & Conditioning Coach &

Asst Basketball Coach:

IFS Performance/IFS Basketball

Will is currently enrolled in the Physical Therapy Doctoral Program at D'Youville College. He is an alumnus of the D'Youville men's basketball team, playing for four years. He had been a recipient of the award for Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for three consecutive years, posting a 3.934 GPA. He finished 3rd in program history in rebounding as well as 5th in blocks and 7th in assists.

Justin Kehr

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Justin is a Collins native and student at D'Youville College earning his degree in Exercise and Sports Studies w/a minor in Nutrition. He intends on continuing his education and earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy after undergrad. Exercise and helping others improve their overall health has always been a driving factor in his life. He believes it's important to help people become the best version of themselves.

Jenna Phillips, BS

Hitting & Fielding Coach:

IFS Softball

Jenna is an Eden native and SUNY Geneseo alum (2012-2016) with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.  During her time as a Knight she played three years of basketball and four years of softball, playing shortstop, second base, and outfield.  Jenna boasted a .950 fielding percentage during her time at Geneseo. Coach Jenna specializes in slap hitting, drag bunting, and fielding. She is currently the assistant coach for the Eden Jr. Raiders 12u travel team.

Laura Spall, DPT

Hitting Coach:

IFS Softball

IFS Softball is thrilled to have a physical therapist as a member of the coaching staff! Coach Laura earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from D'Youville College. She also earned her Bachelor's of Science in Biology with minors in Coaching and Health Science from SUNY Oswego. While attending SUNY Oswego, she impressively started all 4 years as a member of their varsity softball team. 

Lu Krawczyk, BS

Hitting & Catching Coach:

IFS Softball

Lu is a graduate of Alfred University, earning her Bachelor's degree in Health Fitness Management. While attending Alfred, she was a 4 year starter for the varsity softball team. At the catching position, she had 27 assists and 183 put out in the 2019 season alone. She also was a force at the plate offensively with a .368 slugging percentage and .274 batting average. Lu currently works for the Buffalo Bills as an event operation assistant.
